Kitchen Organizing to re-begin

Pots, pans, cups, plates, bowls, boxes, bottles, jars, cans, toaster, mixer, etc. The vast quantity of categories make it very difficult to begin to begin the organization process. Our current kitchen is very small and limited on cabinet space. Luckily there is an entry closet we have (unsuccessfully) repurposed into a kitchen "stuff" collector. Instead up a large open empty wall, we purchased a pair of doored-cabinets (on sale at Menards, of course). We started off using one as a craft/kids cabinet and the other as a pantry. The goal will be to turn the pantry into a kid friendly dishes cabinet (so they can more easily assist in their chore of emptying the dishwasher) and turn the upper cabinets into pantry. Pictures of the before and after to come soon.

Places left to begin organzing:
  • Garage
  • Office
  • Kids toys
  • Clothes

Begin at the beginning

"In the beginning..."

This is the start of something new, hopefully something useful. The goal is to work upon the ideals set in Matthew 25:21...being good stewards with all that God has given us.

The thought is to take "Home Management" to a concise, dedicated and most importantly, intentional view of life in and around the home. I'm sure it will be an ever-changing, evolving list of focus, but will begin with the following:
  • Budgeting
    • Dave Ramsey view on spending (or not spending)
    • "Living like no other." Work to live debt-free.
    • Know where your money goes before you spend it
    • Build savings and emergency funds
    • Basic tax information
  • Energy Management
    • Evaluating and controlling heating/cooling
    • Elimating enery waste
    • Updating basic electrical system (i.e. thermostat, light bulbs, etc)
  • Storage and organization
    • Declutter (if you don't need it sell it, donate it, or trash it)
    • A place for everything...
  • Home schooling
    • Controling costs
    • Educating with Godly principles
    • Internet resources
In a nutshell, streamling how the home is actually management, with intentional focus and taking control over what can be controlled, and dealing with the uncontrollable.
